Claudia Johnson & Matt Stevens Claudia Johnson & Matt Stevens began writing together when they were colleagues on the faculty at the Florida State University Film School. Two of their screenplays a courtroom drama, Obscenity, and a broad comedy, Psycho Bitch were finalists for the 2002 Sundance Screenwriters Lab. Matt has also written and produced biographies for E! Entertainment Television and writes film reviews for E! Online. His screenplay, A Really Rotten Christmas, was purchased by Phase One Productions. He has worked as a script analyst for several companies including CAA. Matt's short films have won awards at national and international festivals, and his mockumentary, The Making of "Killer Kite", received the Student Emmy for Best Comedy from the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences. He was a second-unit director for the feature, Curdled, executive-produced by Quentin Tarantino. Claudia's plays and screenplays have won numerous awards, including the Florida Screenwriters Award, the American National Theater and Academy West Award, and the Warner Bros. Scriptwriting Award. She is the author of Crafting Short Screenplays That Connect, adopted by film schools around the nation, and the critically acclaimed memoir, Stifled Laughter: One Woman's Story About Fighting Censorship, nominated for the Pulitzer Prize. A nationally recognized advocate for free speech, she was the first recipient of the P.E.N./Newman's Own First Amendment Award, presented by Paul Newman.
